a website and gallery of my personal collection as well as specimens offered for sale.

St. Johns Flower Agate

This is one of the few agate types I have noted that I have not personally collected. At this time my understanding is that the collecting area this material comes from is on private land so permission must be obtained before treading there.

This agate is seldom banded and is more of a hard, dense milky Blue Chalcedony which frequently has unique colorful inclusions throughout it. Almost all colors are represented in this material ranging from Brown, Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue  and sometimes Pink

The most apropriate use of this material is for cutting cabochons, as I believe it occurs in a broken seam and not in nodules. Stay tuned as I cut through and obtain more of this material.
